Bookbinding for Print | Adhesive Bindings
Saturday, June 28, 10 am - 4 pm
Explore the advantages of adhesive bookbinding for printed matter. This course will guide participants through model building of various single-sided structures, such as the accordion, drum leaf binding, and Hedi Kyle's Storage Book that appear double-sided in the finished book form. Throughout the binding demonstrations, we will consider proper material handling, physical properties of eastern and western printmaking papers, and alternative soft and hard cover options for each structure. Demo materials and bookbinding tools will be provided. No previous bookbinding experience is required.
