Join us for a fluid, expressive technique that sits right at the intersection of painting and printmaking. In this workshop, participants will be creating unique prints by painting and drawing directly onto the silkscreen mesh and transferring their image to paper through the pull of the squeegee.
This process is great, whether you’re looking to build rich textures for mixed-media backgrounds or create stand-alone masterpieces. Come ready to play, experiment, and go home with a collection of unique original prints!

This workshop invites participants to delve into tonal exploration in copper-plate etching through traditional aquatint techniques. Simple, foundational exercises in tonal drawing—rooted in sfumato and chiaroscuro—will provide the basis for practicing a full value range using step-bite aquatint. Participants will further experiment with a reductive technique, working from a deeply etched surface and employing burnishing methods to reveal mid-tones and highlights in a manner similar to mezzotint. Additional instruction will be provided on wiping and printing techniques to achieve beautifully nuanced, gradual tonal impressions.
Participants are responsible for the materials on the Supply List.
This workshop is limited to 8 participants.

In this four-week class, participants will learn how to carve and print a woodblock from beginning to end. First, participants will learn how to prep the block and begin drawing a still life directly onto the surface of the block. A variety of mark-making techniques will be demonstrated, and participants will begin carving their images. The workshop will then be focused on printing the woodblocks, covering different options for ink and paper. Participants will have the opportunity to print proofs of their blocks and rework their images before printing multiples. At the end of the class, participants will walk away with a small edition of woodblock prints.
Participants are responsible for providing materials on the Supply List. All other materials will be provided.
This class is limited to 8 participants.

Texture is one of the most expressive and visually rich elements in visual art. Whether evoking the character of a material or surface, or generating intricate patterns, texture appeals to our tactile sensibilities and determines the perception of space, scale, and distance. In this workshop, participants will create a small archive of textural studies and explore techniques for achieving various textural effects through both collagraph and copper etching processes.
Participants are invited to explore points of technical intersection and will receive guidance on printing methods that enhance the expressive qualities of textural surfaces.
Participants are responsible for the materials on the Supply List.
This workshop is limited to 8 participants.
