Flower Power: Relief Printing in the Botanical Realm with Oil Board and Tetra Paks

$350.00

Saturday, February 21 & Sunday, February 22
10 am - 4 pm

It’s cold, dark and grey, but  when this workshop happens, Spring will be just a month away!

Join Annie Silverman to learn techniques for cutting, scraping and texturing these simple materials to create gardens of color for relief printmaking. Botanical sources and forms will be our inspirations to explore composition, repetition and patterning within our prints. There will be many visual sources for inspiration from actual plant material to vibrant examples of botanical illustration throughout the world.

Tetra Paks are  the containers that soup and oat milk  come in, and during Covid, printmakers discovered that the inside silvery lining could be used for many types of printmaking.  Oil board is a product used to make stencils in the printing industry. (think MADE IN CHINA on cardboard boxes)

No experience necessary, just a willingness to get inky and try something new.

Participants are responsible for the materials on the Supply List.

This workshop is limited to 8 participants.
