Watercolor Monotype
Monday, June 16
10 am - 3 pm
“Monotype” is a term that refers to a print that is unique or one-of-a-kind. Watercolor monotype is a process that uses water based materials (such as watercolors, water soluble markers or pencils, caran d'ache crayons, etc.) to draw on a plate and then transfer it onto dampened paper.
Participants will learn how to prepare plates and paper and have time to create their own watercolor monotype prints. Participants will also experiment with collaging elements and exploring how different kinds of water-based media create different kinds of effects. This workshop is perfect for the watercolor artist looking for something new, or the printmaker looking for a non-toxic process.
