Print + Fold Book Workshop
Sunday, July 13
9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Play with printmaking without a press, then create your own one-of-a-kind artists’ books with easy but elegant folded book forms. The morning will focus on making your own stamps and blocks, a printing process that is accessible, immediate, and playful. Stamps can be used to make patterns or simple, bold images. In the afternoon, we will fold our printed paper into two book forms—an x-book, a single sheet book, and a lotus fold book, a slinky moving form with variations and possibilities.
Come explore two time-based handheld book structures as you explore graphic imagery. We will discuss serial imagery, simple narratives, and sthe equencing of events that happen as you turn the pages. Prompts will be provided to inspire and broaden discovery through experimental imagery.
